Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Eduardo Fontirroig in the 45th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck 潘树星 prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If 柯亮迪 had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

Camilo Freixa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from 陆义云 in the 54th minute of the match. In the 54th minute, 杨弘钢 hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When 杨弘钢 fell near the penalty area in the 56th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mario Fernandino got free with 潘树星 in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Camilo Freixa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from 陆义云, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Bolivia eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
