Raul Quinteros who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 29thth minute tested the skills of Dante Lacasa when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Feliksas Obrikis kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. In the 46th match minute, La Vieja Guarida FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Faustino Lizar to maneuver through the defense. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Joel Gaona was the one to do the kick off. After having played for 51 minutes, Joel Gaona managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mexico's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joel Gaona was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Faustino Lizar in the 56th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Apolo Erroman was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Joel Gaona received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Apolo Erroman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 63 minutes, Yağızhan Korgan made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Mexico's Dante Lacasa tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Alberto Tafalla received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Apolo Erroman came out and tried to block the shot, but Alberto Tafalla slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 70th minute. Joel Gaona succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-3 in the 75th playminute. La Vieja Guarida FC made a substitution.
