Through an outstanding action, after 26 minutes, Jonathan Ferrant successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 28th minute of the match, managed to save Venezuela from getting a goal against them. Patricio Costa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 35th minute, Venezuela's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Ceferino Odol fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Venezuela's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Illescas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Izydor Pietrasz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 41 minutes into the game, Tomasz Frankowski cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Jonathan Ferrant was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After having played for 44 minutes, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Venezuela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomas Illescas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomasz Frankowski in the 47th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-1 at half-time.

Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rafael Quiroga in the 53rd minute of play.
