After 12 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Patricio Costa. In the 13th minute, Étienne Lepers reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Jonathan Ferrant. The goal made the score 2-0. Patricio Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Florian Antoszewski tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when 唐荣骏 got free with Jonathan Ferrant in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

With a little luck, BEŞİKTAŞ J.K's Florian Antoszewski got control of the ball when Tomas Illescas tried to sneak it across the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dimitris Kalokiris during the 55th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The attack was good, but when Tomas Illescas in the 81st minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Patricio Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Étienne Lepers, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. Patricio Costa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
