The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes into the game, Yağızhan Korgan cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Julio Vera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Apolo Erroman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 8th minute of the match. In the 15th minute, Yağızhan Korgan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Yağızhan Korgan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. When Faustino Lizar fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored La Vieja Guarida FC's protests and gave Faustino Lizar a yellow card for diving instead. After 20 played minutes La Vieja Guarida FC got a freekick which was hit by Faustino Lizar. 22 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Raul Quinteros came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Yağızhan Korgan sent off a good shot on target. After 23 minutes, Yağızhan Korgan made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. Ecuador's Julio Vera tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. When Ecuador's Daniel Zorita in the 26th minute got a chance for a shot 26th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye La Vieja Guarida FC's goalie prevented a goal. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Yağızhan Korgan's shot from short distance in the 29th minute. The La Vieja Guarida FC fans' excitement grew in the 31st match minute when La Vieja Guarida FC's Yağızhan Korgan looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Cristian Sancho blasted a shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Apolo Erroman having to make a save. If Raul Quinteros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 38th minute, Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 40th minute, when Feliksas Obrikis sent off a good shot on target. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Apolo Erroman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Yağızhan Korgans short, quick shot in the 46thth minute got Julio Vera to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Cristian Sancho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Yağızhan Korgan made a kick off. In the 52nd minute Raul Quinteros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 53rd match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juan Sebastián Puig to maneuver through the defense. Raul Quinteros was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 53rd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 55th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Apolo Erroman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Agustín Saelices had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Agustín Saelices got a free kick in the 65th minute. In the 65th minute of the match Raul Quinteros shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Julio Vera showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 67 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Raul Quinteros came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 68th minute Raul Quinteros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Agustín Saelices fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Apolo Erroman having to interfere. La Vieja Guarida FC's Wladyslaw Mikulski was substituted for Zacarias Iigo. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Yağızhan Korgan's shot from short distance in the 72nd minute. In the 73rd minute of the match La Vieja Guarida FC got a corner. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Raul Quinteros ran over to the corner to take the kick. 74 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Yağızhan Korgan came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 78 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Raul Quinteros came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Raul Quinteros's shot from short distance in the 89th minute. Juan Sebastián Puig hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. For all the effort they put into the match, the Ecuador players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for La Vieja Guarida FC.
