If Agustín Saelices had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 24th minute, Pau Torres hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 25th minute of the match Daniel Zorita sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Eugen Remus skillfully saved the ball. Eugen Remus made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 35th minute of play. 37 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Eugen Remus narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Vecdi Başesgioğlu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 41st minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. Greenbay's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Tyler Morton in the 42nd minute. The supporters of Greenbay booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luis Andino didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Will Alderson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Greenbay's Pau Torres got a free kick in the 56th minute. After recieving a nice pass, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita tried to score from far away in the 56th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eugen Remus having to interfere. With a little luck, Greenbay's Eugen Remus got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Will Alderson in the 62nd minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Eugen Remus didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. 67 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Vecdi Başesgioğlu came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Sancho got free with Eugen Remus in the 72nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Andre Shakespeare, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ecuador played a much better game than Greenbay and deserved their victory. The Greenbay players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
