But to his dismay, Daniel Zorita quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Yu Ting Hongs short, quick shot in the 11thth minute got Julio Vera to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Mei Zhen Di hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. Ecuador's Felix Montenegro got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 15 minutes into the match, CF Pogi Club Olsztyn's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Ulryk Tomporowski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cristian Sancho might have been able to make a better finish in the 22nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ulryk Tomporowski. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cristian Sancho ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 23rd match minute, CF Pogi Club Olsztyn was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mei Zhen Di to maneuver through the defense. When Ren Bo Hong came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the CF Pogi Club Olsztyn fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ren Bo Hong couldn't finish the play. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Yu Ting Hong in the 28th minute. The supporters of CF Pogi Club Olsztyn booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristian Sancho didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 30th minute, Zdzislaw Kuszczak hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to CF Pogi Club Olsztyn getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 37th minute of play forced CF Pogi Club Olsztyn's goalkeeper Ulryk Tomporowski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Yu Ting Hong had several of the Ecuador's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 38 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-1 score and a disappointed Julio Vera as he didn't even see the shot coming. Yu Ting Hong could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 42nd minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. Ulryk Tomporowski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. CF Pogi Club Olsztyn's Ulryk Tomporowski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 45th minute of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 96th minute. The corner went over the outstretched arms of CF Pogi Club Olsztyn's goalie and right to Cristian Sancho. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. CF Pogi Club Olsztyn's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal.
