Spectators: 49 (Terracing: 38, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Thodoris Tassoulis started the match with the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Koby Wright in the 7th minute of play forced Sheriff's goalkeeper Yahia van der Saar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Koby Wright could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 10th minute of the match, but Yahia van der Saar made a huge save. Yahia van der Saar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Koby Wright, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luka Harris got free with Yahia van der Saar in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jax Williamson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Thodoris Tassoulis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jax Williamson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Damaso Xacintu, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. In the 26th minute, Sheriff's Cristiano Cordone seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Cristiano Cordone the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Sheriff protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Cristiano Cordone had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 26 minutes into the game, one of Sheriff:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. After 34 played minutes Sheriff got a freekick which was hit by Kılıçalp Ayçetin. With an all-out effort, Canada's Yahia van der Saar threw himself towards the right post 35 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Koby Wright, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Jax Williamson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thodoris Tassoulis in the 37th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Koby Wright in the 39th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Yahia van der Saar prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jax Williamson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Damaso Xacintu, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Koby Wright fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yahia van der Saar having to interfere.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Koby Wright to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute Luka Harris shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yahia van der Saar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Yahia van der Saar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Koby Wright in the 59th minute of the match. Canada's Theo Burton was substituted for Rohan Watson. Canada's Filip Edwards was substituted for Koby Wright. Sheriff made a substitution. Clayton Gol replaced Thodoris Tassoulis. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carter George in the 65th minute of play forced Sheriff's goalkeeper Yahia van der Saar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The corner ended in Jan Dixon almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Sheriff's Yahia van der Saar did a great save. 94 minutes into the match, Filip Edwards notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Sheriff's Yahia van der Saar. Yahia van der Saar was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After some careless play in the Sheriff defense, Filip Edwards kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Yahia van der Saar. The Sheriff fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Yahia van der Saar should have stopped the shot.
