In the 34th minute, Paraguay's Jaime Pardo dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-1. With his leg Wellington Sena managed to avoid a goal in the 38thth minute, when Paraguay's Jaime Pardo fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Hector Covarrubias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Wellington Sena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-1 at half-time.

When the match clock showed 80 minutes, the score became 4-1 when Jaime Pardo sped through Riograndense FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Wellington Sena. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Paraguay walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
