When Paolo Rossi came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the Montesacro FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Paolo Rossi couldn't finish the play. Rolando Noboa came out of the goal in the 24th minute to try and stop a shot by Montesacro FC's Paolo Rossi. But to his dismay, Paolo Rossi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. In the 26th minute, Paolo Rossi ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rolando Noboa was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. After 31 minutes of play, Peru's Julian Murillo made it 1-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. After the first half Montesacro FC were leading 1-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Giacomo Casanova showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julian Murillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. When Paolo Rossi fell near the penalty area in the 68th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Montesacro FC's protests and gave Paolo Rossi a yellow card for diving instead. In the 68th minute, Paolo Rossi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 69th minute the ball was on its way in behind Montesacro FC's goalkeeper Giacomo Casanova, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 73rd minute Luz Tejedor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Giacomo Casanova saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 74 minutes Montesacro FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Luz Tejedor who took care of the corner kick. In the 80th minute Loco Palermo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Peru made a substitution. The Montesacro FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
