After 3 played minutes, Panama's Abraham Alguacil shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Deilmison Yashin came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Panama reached it. Durvalino de Queirós hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. Panama's Marcos Cotilla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Deilmison Bergkamp in the 9th minute of play. In the 13th minute Tomas Berganza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Deilmison Yashin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marcos Cotilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Deilmison Bergkamp in the 18th minute of play. After 19 played minutes Panama got a freekick which was hit by Isidoro Sarmiento. Marcos Cotilla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Deilmison Bergkamp, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. 23 minutes into the game, Tomas Berganza cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Deilmison Yashin was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Durvalino de Queirós charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Durvalino de Queirós the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Durvalino de Queirós kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Abraham Alguacil took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 27th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Deilmison Yashin. ꑿ.Ꮳ. ꋪꋬℑꋬꇓ's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 28th minute Acácio da Silva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Cotilla saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 31 minutes into the match, ꑿ.Ꮳ. ꋪꋬℑꋬꇓ's goal looked a bit too open when Alex Cambeiro came free, but Deilmison Yashin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marcos Cotilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Acácio da Silva in the 33rd minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rubens Tasso got free with Marcos Cotilla in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 41 minutes into the game, Deilmison Bergkamp recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Marcos Cotilla. Deilmison Bergkamp showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. After the first half Panama were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Deilmison Yashin was out of position in the 53 minute of play, and Alex Cambeiro capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Alex Cambeiro really showed his touch with that goal: 1-3. After 56 minutes, Abraham Alguacil mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Panama and the ꑿ.Ꮳ. ꋪꋬℑꋬꇓ players grew even worse after the yellow card. Abraham Alguacil kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. With 59 minutes on the clock, Leonel Botelho commited a dangerous tackle. Isidoro Sarmiento succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-4 in the 70th playminute. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 75th minute of the game. One of Panama:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of ꑿ.Ꮳ. ꋪꋬℑꋬꇓ:s goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Isidoro Sarmiento in the 80th minute of play forced ꑿ.Ꮳ. ꋪꋬℑꋬꇓ's goalkeeper Deilmison Yashin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Deilmison Yashin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Isidoro Sarmiento in the 86th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 88 minutes, Isidoro Sarmiento took a quick shot and it went in 2-5 without a chance for Deilmison Yashin to make any attempt to save it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Acácio da Silva in the 94th minute of play forced Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Deilmison Yashin was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Alex Cambeiro showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-6 in the 96 minute of play.
