Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Shayne Cagle kicked off to start the match. Boyd Donnelly made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luis Andino in the 9th minute of play. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 12th minute. A nice corner shot did that Daniel Zorita got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Boyd Donnelly quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Cristian Sancho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Shayne Cagle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. After 23 played minutes Waterbury Rangers got a freekick which was hit by Rodolfo Cordero. In the 28th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Boyd Donnelly saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Shayne Cagle sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 35th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felix Montes to maneuver through the defense. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rodolfo Cordero, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Waterbury Rangers booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristian Sancho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Shayne Cagle could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. In the 39th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristian Sancho to maneuver through the defense. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Daniel Zorita to strike the kick off in the second half. When Daniel Zorita fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ecuador's protests and gave Daniel Zorita a yellow card for diving instead. In the 53rd match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Daniel Zorita to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Rodolfo Cordero managed to get in a good position for a shot. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rodolfo Cordero in the 65th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Boyd Donnelly breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Camilo Gisbert got a free kick in the 73rd minute. Ryan Esparza, 74 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. After 79 played minutes Waterbury Rangers got a freekick which was hit by Troy Rangel. With a little luck, Waterbury Rangers's Boyd Donnelly got control of the ball when Cristian Sancho tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Shayne Cagle in the 82nd minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Boyd Donnelly was left in no man's land by his defense there! Julio Vera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Shayne Cagle went, in the 94th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. The Waterbury Rangers fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
