Paw Nibelvang showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luis Andino, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. FC Gamla Stan's Paw Nibelvang played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 13th minute of play. The supporters of Ecuador booed when FC Gamla Stan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. André Bjørnstjerne didn't get a good kick on the ball. Paw Nibelvang stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cristian Sancho's shot from short distance in the 35th minute. Michel Torres sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Julio Vera stood somewhat misplaced when Teddi Suutari came free in front of goal and shot 2-0 to the left of him in the 37 minute. Paw Nibelvang made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 41st minute of play. The supporters of Ecuador booed when FC Gamla Stan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Frederik Israel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Michel Torres fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Teddi Suutari to make the kick off. In the 69th minute, Agustín Saelices ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Paw Nibelvang was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. The corner led FC Gamla Stan's Morgan Niby to fire away a dangerous shot which Julio Vera despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Ecuador's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because FC Gamla Stan had won, even though Ecuador had held more of the ball.
