Simon Reed came out of the goal and Axel Tasis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. ChAяRuA ϒ KaяβoηEяO ☆ were furious when Daren Farrell was red carded, 14 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Simon Reed took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lautaro Puig, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Eliseo Noboa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 24 minutes into the game, Costa Rica's Eliseo Noboa nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Simon Reed made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. In the 26th minute, Eliseo Noboa ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Simon Reed was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Aaron Alcocer's late challenge caught a ChAяRuA ϒ KaяβoηEяO ☆'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Aaron Alcocer helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Aaron Alcocer hit a great ball. ChAяRuA ϒ KaяβoηEяO ☆'s Walter Olivera managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Lautaro Puig in the 35 minute of the game. Simon Reed showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eliseo Noboa in the 38th minute of the match. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Eliseo Noboa made a kick off. Costa Rica's Lautaro Puig got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee ignored Costa Rica's protests and gave Efrain Moruga a yellow card for diving instead. Lautaro Puig sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Abel Carballo kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. In the 81st minute, Eliseo Noboa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A sloppy throw-in by Lautaro Puig in the 82nd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by ChAяRuA ϒ KaяβoηEяO ☆'s Giorgian De Arrascaeta.
