The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zachary Krzynowek in the 17th minute of play. 19 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Zachary Krzynowek came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 23rd minute, Agustín Saelices made a precise shot to the right of Glenn Antheunis. Fanático Pirate De BRAZIL's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 27th minute of play forced Fanático Pirate De BRAZIL's goalkeeper Glenn Antheunis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 28th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Fanático Pirate De BRAZIL's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Daniel Zorita got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Glenn Antheunis quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. When the match clock showed 32 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Braulio Martinez sped through Ecuador's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Julio Vera. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Glenn Antheunis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Daniel Zorita made the kick off in the second half. Ecuador's Agustín Saelices got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Braulio Martinez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 58thth minute of the game Braulio Martinez who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Zachary Krzynowek sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 68th minute after Fanático Pirate De BRAZIL's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. After having played for 69 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 73 played minutes Fanático Pirate De BRAZIL got a freekick which was hit by Polad Denisov. Daniel Zorita came free with the goalkeeper in the 74th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Glenn Antheunis could save by the left post. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Braulio Martinez in the 75th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mehdixan Balacayev, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Glenn Antheunis having to interfere. 85 minutes into the match, Fanático Pirate De BRAZIL's goalkeeper Glenn Antheunis had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 90th minute of the match, but Glenn Antheunis made a huge save. In the 92nd minute Luis Andino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Glenn Antheunis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Polad Denisov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cristian Sancho who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 95thth minute tested the skills of Glenn Antheunis when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Ecuador's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
