Birger Påk made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Birger Påk breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 23rd minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Birger Påk saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 26 minutes into the match, Stream Sponsoren's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Birger Påk reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 33rd minute of play forced Stream Sponsoren's goalkeeper Birger Påk to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After taking down the ball on Ecuador's corner Luis Andino fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Birger Påk quite easily take care of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felix Montenegro in the 39th minute of play forced Stream Sponsoren's goalkeeper Birger Påk to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aktan Sara in the 46th minute of play. After 48 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Rasmus Ljungberg who took care of the corner kick. Rasmus Ljungberg made a great header on Stream Sponsoren's corner, it was just that Ecuador's Julio Vera managed to reach the ball for a save. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Despite this Julio Vera quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Antonio Arias kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. After having played for 64 minutes, Rasmus Ljungberg managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Stream Sponsoren's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rasmus Ljungberg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Stream Sponsoren's Lex Immers got a free kick in the 66th minute. In the 70th minute Aktan Sara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Stream Sponsoren's Birger Påk got control of the ball when Cristian Sancho tried to sneak it across the goal line. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aktan Sara in the 80th minute of the match. Agustín Saelices hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Antonio Arias hit a great ball. 91 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ecuador's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Rasmus Ljungberg was slow to take the kick. During this time Stream Sponsoren's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Stream Sponsoren's Rasmus Ljungberg to fire away a dangerous shot which Julio Vera despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Agustín Saelices kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. Despite being the better team, Ecuador failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
