The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. Gabrijel Jovanovski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Viggo Bruse kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. Venezuela's Rigoberto Mina suffered a concussion after 97 minutes and had to leave the field. 98 minutes into the game, Cvjetko Štokić was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lipovljani's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Venezuela the free kick. Cvjetko Štokić kicked well hit freekick during the 99th minute of the match.
