Georg Hagberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Monty Rogers, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Joep Ponk got free with Marco Day in the 6th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. USA's Marco Day played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joep Ponk in the 20th minute of play. In the 20th minute, Joep Ponk ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marco Day was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Georg Hagberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cassius Byrne in the 24th minute of the match. In the 26thth minute of the game Manolo Bartumeu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but USA's Marco Day was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 27 minutes USA's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Ladislao Cordarius who took care of the corner kick. 31 minutes into the match, Monty Rogers notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Ágætis Byrjun's Georg Hagberg. Georg Hagberg was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Georg Hagberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Monty Rogers, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Joep Ponk made the kick off in the second half. Zach Harrison took the ball and in the 54 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Georg Hagberg. Georg Hagberg dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Ágætis Byrjun's defense didn't have a chance, in the 59th minute, when Cassius Byrne scored to the left of an out of position Georg Hagberg, making the score, 1-3. Georg Hagberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cassius Byrne in the 66th minute of play. 67 minutes into the match, Ágætis Byrjun's goalkeeper Georg Hagberg had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cassius Byrne. After 68 played minutes Ágætis Byrjun got a freekick which was hit by Ditlev Delmont. Ágætis Byrjun made a substitution. Ernst Melis replaced Vitaliy Vorobey. The supporters of USA booed when Ágætis Byrjun was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ditlev Delmont didn't get a good kick on the ball. Georg Hagberg made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sam Campbell in the 70th minute. After 72 minutes Ágætis Byrjun's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Monty Rogers who took care of the corner kick. The corner led USA's Monty Rogers to fire away a dangerous shot which Georg Hagberg despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Sam Campbell came free with the goalkeeper in the 73rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Georg Hagberg could save by the left post. Raphael Moore kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. Georg Hagberg made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sam Campbell in the 77th minute. USA made a substitution. Khalid Parry replaced Monty Rogers. USA's Marco Baker was substituted for Edward Mcdonald. In the 79th minute of the match USA got a corner. Ágætis Byrjun's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Jenson Smith ran over to the corner to take the kick. 1-4 became the score in the 83rd minute when Khalid Parry elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. In the 87th minute USA were awarded a corner. Jenson Smith went to the cornerflag to take it. Khalid Parry made a great header on USA's corner, it was just that Ágætis Byrjun's Georg Hagberg managed to reach the ball for a save. The audience was convinced that Khalid Parry's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Georg Hagberg was relentless in the 90th minute of the game. 95 minutes into the match, Ágætis Byrjun's goal looked a bit too open when Khalid Parry came free, but Georg Hagberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. USA's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
