A well-hit corner resulted in Felix Montenegro heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. In the 28th minute of the game Primitivo Andino made a throw-in which Cristian Sancho played forward. 28 minutes into the match, Club A. Chipa y Tereré's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Xie Chao Cheng reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 33rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The supporters of Club A. Chipa y Tereré booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristian Sancho didn't get a good kick on the ball.
