Arsenal FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Daniel Zorita was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. After 28 played minutes Arsenal FC got a freekick which was hit by 马霖梁. If Agustín Saelices had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 40th minute, Cristian Sancho made a precise shot to the right of 魏风邦. Arsenal FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-5. In the 43rd minute, Agustín Saelices got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The Arsenal FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ecuador were winning 0-6.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Zorita to make the kick off. 0-8 became the score in the 56th minute when Daniel Zorita elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. 魏风邦 made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Sancho in the 68th minute.
