Wlodzimierz Dawiec showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Patricio Costa, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. The goalkeeper smacked the ball away after a great corner, but Jonathan Venegas advanced and headed the ball into goal, 0-1 in the 20th minute. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tobias Nyberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tobias Nyberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tomas Illescas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 52 minutes play.
