Julio Vera was left in no man's land by his defense there! After having played for 78 minutes, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristian Sancho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fausto Bucesta in the 84th minute of play. After 85 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Fausto Bucesta who took care of the corner kick. Fausto Bucesta hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Ecuador players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
