But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rohan Watson couldn't finish the play. Sheriff's defense didn't have a chance, in the 22nd minute, when Rohan Watson scored to the left of an out of position Yahia van der Saar, making the score, 1-0. Through an outstanding action, after 30 minutes, Yahia van der Saar successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Natalio Dominguez in the 32nd minute of play forced Canada's goalkeeper Jax Williamson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jax Williamson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Natalio Dominguez, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. After 34 played minutes Sheriff got a freekick which was hit by Kılıçalp Ayçetin. After a rather tough play, Sheriff's Kılıçalp Ayçetin got a free kick in the 36th minute. Jax Williamson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Damaso Xacintu in the 48th minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.
The wind increased when Thodoris Tassoulis made the kick off in the second half. 58 minutes into the match, Sheriff's goal looked a bit too open when Koby Wright came free, but Yahia van der Saar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 59th minute, Luka Harris made a precise shot to the right of Yahia van der Saar. Sheriff's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Sheriff's Alejandro Rubin was substituted for Dragoş Bălace. Sheriff's Clayton Gol was substituted for Thodoris Tassoulis. Canada's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Jan Dixon in the 67th minute. A nice corner shot did that Jan Dixon got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Yahia van der Saar quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 68th minute Natalio Dominguez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jax Williamson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 69th minute Filip Edwards shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yahia van der Saar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Damaso Xacintu in the 79thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Jax Williamson, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Sheriff were awarded a corner in the 86th minute after Canada's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Iraklis Karasavvidis took the corner. Natalio Dominguez made a great header on Sheriff's corner, it was just that Canada's Jax Williamson managed to reach the ball for a save. If Clayton Gol had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
