The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. San Fernando Eagles's Vlad Enceanu got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Polo Quinteros in the 17th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Victorio Ado in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 21 minutes into the match, San Fernando Eagles's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Victorio Ado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Polo Quinteros in the 22nd minute of play. 25 minutes had been played when some careless play by San Fernando Eagles's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. Victorio Ado made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. Victorio Ado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 27th minute of play. 28 minutes had been played when some careless play by San Fernando Eagles's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. Cristian Sancho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Daniel Zorita's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Victorio Ado firmly grabbed it by the left post. After 32 minutes San Fernando Eagles's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. After 34 minutes of play, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Victorio Ado was left in no man's land by his defense there! With a little luck, San Fernando Eagles's Victorio Ado got control of the ball when Felix Montenegro tried to sneak it across the goal line. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Victorio Ado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vlad Enceanu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Polo Quinteros's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 48th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Polo Quinteros got free with Julio Vera in the 51st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some careless play in the San Fernando Eagles defense, Cristian Sancho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Victorio Ado. The San Fernando Eagles fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Victorio Ado should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho got a free kick in the 65th minute. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Polo Quinteros, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. When Ecuador's Cristian Sancho in the 70th minute got a chance for a shot 70th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye San Fernando Eagles's goalie prevented a goal. After 71 minutes San Fernando Eagles's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. In the 73rd minute Polo Quinteros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 77 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Victorio Ado made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. Victorio Ado came out of the goal in the 81st minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Cristian Sancho. But to his dismay, Cristian Sancho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Polo Quinteros in the 84th minute. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Felix Montenegro hit a great ball. Ulysses Schmidt kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. The supporters of San Fernando Eagles booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antonio Arias didn't get a good kick on the ball. Michael Stor came free with the goalkeeper in the 95th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Julio Vera could save by the left post. Victorio Ado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 96th minute of play.
