After 15 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Camilo Gaos. 17 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Cícero Cearense came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wei Feng Yao in the 22nd minute of the match. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kaan Kaa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jonathan Venegas charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jonathan Venegas the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Jonathan Venegas got a free kick in the 26th minute. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Kaan Kaa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. In the 46th minute, Agnaldo Cruz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonathan Ferrant was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Kaan Kaa stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Tymoteusz Sanocki showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Illescas in the 52nd minute of the match. Dráusio Mendes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 58th minute, Guillermo Mariano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kaan Kaa in the 66th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Venezuela's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Illescas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tymoteusz Sanocki breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Venezuela's Tomas Illescas got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 76 minutes of play, Hannover Football Club's Kaan Kaa made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jonathan Ferrant was left in no man's land by his defense there! Frits Elhart charged in rather forcefully in the 81st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The supporters of Hannover Football Club booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Patricio Costa didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Agnaldo Cruz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Jose Correa hit a great ball. The Venezuela fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Hannover Football Club were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
