Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Karl-Michael Helström took the kick off in the first half of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alberto Tafalla got free with Aderbal Santos in the 7th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 10 minutes into the game, Alberto Tafalla cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Aderbal Santos was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 13 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Marcos Vilas Boas came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 14th minute, Lluciano Zafrilla hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sílvio Ferrão's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dante Lacasa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 18th minute of play. 21 minutes had been played when some careless play by Straedelburgh's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Joel Gaona was slow to take the kick. During this time Mexico's players had a chance to rest. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcos Vilas Boas, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sílvio Ferrão in the 25th minute of play. 27 minutes into the match, Straedelburgh's goalkeeper Aderbal Santos had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alberto Tafalla. Felix Luque hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sílvio Ferrão in the 30th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Joel Gaona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aderbal Santos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. In the 42nd minute Sílvio Ferrão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 44th minute of the match Straedelburgh got a corner. Mexico's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Caco Araújo ran over to the corner to take the kick. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Joel Gaona to strike the kick off in the second half. When Mexico's Alberto Tafalla in the 52nd minute got a chance for a shot 52nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Straedelburgh's goalie prevented a goal. Mexico's Alberto Tafalla managed to work through Straedelburgh's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Alberto Tafalla dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Richard Pinheiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lorenzo Cazalla kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Mexico's Lorenzo Cazalla got a free kick in the 68th minute. With a little luck, Mexico's Dante Lacasa got control of the ball when Caco Araújo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Alberto Tafalla hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. Aderbal Santos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 78th minute of play. Aderbal Santos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luca Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. Dante Lacasa was out of position in the 89 minute of play, and Sílvio Ferrão capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Sílvio Ferrão really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. Sílvio Ferrão hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. Aderbal Santos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 94th minute of play. When Joel Gaona came up free with the goalie in the 97th minute, the Mexico fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joel Gaona couldn't finish the play. Mexico were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
