With a couple of smart ball manuevers Maicon Palmeira in the 53rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maicon Palmeira in the 54th minute of the match. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Vicente Guimarães tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in E. C. Uruguaiana's zone, Felix Montenegro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vicente Guimarães came out of the goal and Felix Montenegro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maicon Palmeira in the 61st minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 61st match minute, E. C. Uruguaiana was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Flavius Marinescu to maneuver through the defense. 64 minutes into the game, Geovani Mendonça cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Julio Vera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Maicon Palmeira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 68th minute, Primitivo Andino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Maicon Palmeira might have been able to make a better finish in the 69th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julio Vera. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Maicon Palmeira ran back to his position shaking his head. Uruguaiana's Vicente Guimarães got control of the ball when Cristian Sancho tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 89th minute Maicon Palmeira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 90 played minutes E. C. Uruguaiana got a freekick which was hit by Valdemar da Cunha. In the 94th match minute, E. C. Uruguaiana was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Geovani Mendonça to maneuver through the defense. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. E. C. Uruguaiana were victorious despite being under pressure from Ecuador for much of the match.
