In the 14th minute Viktor Nilsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tomas Illescas struck a weak shot in the 16th minute. Kenneth Knutsson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Venezuela. The Venezuela fans' excitement grew in the 23rd match minute when Venezuela's Tomas Illescas looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Viktor Nilsson in the 26th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. In the 28th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Patricio Costa to maneuver through the defense. After 29 played minutes, Babanoel FC's Gert Engman shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Babanoel FC reached it. When the match had gone on for 31 minutes, Viktor Nilsson put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. If Viktor Nilsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tomas Illescas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The throw-in from Alex Chicote in the 41st minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Babanoel FC's Malcolm Wickander. After some careless play in the Babanoel FC defense, Tomas Illescas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Kenneth Knutsson. The Babanoel FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kenneth Knutsson should have stopped the shot. After having played for 46 minutes, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Venezuela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomas Illescas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Viktor Nilsson was the one to do the kick off. The audience was convinced that Viktor Nilsson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonathan Ferrant was relentless in the 52nd minute of the game. When Tomas Illescas came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Venezuela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomas Illescas couldn't finish the play. 58 minutes into the match, Babanoel FC's goalkeeper Kenneth Knutsson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tomas Illescas. 59 minutes into the match, Babanoel FC's Viktor Nilsson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jonathan Ferrant narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Viktor Nilsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tomas Illescas got free with Kenneth Knutsson in the 66th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 69 minutes into the match, Babanoel FC's goalkeeper Kenneth Knutsson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tomas Illescas. In the 71st minute, Malcolm Wickander hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Babanoel FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Malcolm Wickander didn't get a good kick on the ball. Guillermo Mariano hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. In the 82nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Babanoel FC's goalkeeper Kenneth Knutsson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Venezuela walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
