Edgar Lampa kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. At last the ball reached Olgierd Wojtowicz at the corner, ending with a kick to difficult to stop for the goalkeeper of Venezuela. 1-0. In the 19th minute, Thomas Vollmar got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Kajetan Kochniarczyk had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 23rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Adam Pacholewski in the 26th minute. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Venezuela's Patricio Costa got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 32 minutes into the match, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mikolaj Jerzyk narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Mikolaj Jerzyk stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tomas Illescas's shot from short distance in the 35th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Venezuela's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Illescas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mikolaj Jerzyk breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Adam Pacholewski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. Adam Pacholewski could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 42nd minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Thomas Vollmar in the 46th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Thomas Vollmar made a kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Newcastle United's zone, Tomas Illescas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mikolaj Jerzyk came out of the goal and Tomas Illescas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 59th minute Marian Erland shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Thomas Vollmar came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the Newcastle United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Thomas Vollmar couldn't finish the play. Newcastle United's Filip Orling was substituted for Julian Obuchowicz. After 65 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Jonathan Venegas. In the 66th minute of the match Zé Paulo Zonta sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jonathan Ferrant skillfully saved the ball. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Venezuela's Tomas Illescas slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Mikolaj Jerzyk. That made the score 1-1 after 69 minutes of play. 72 minutes into the game, Newcastle United's Adam Pacholewski nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jonathan Ferrant made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. 76 minutes into the game, Rigoberto Mina was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Venezuela's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Newcastle United the free kick. 77 minutes into the game, Zé Paulo Zonta cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Jonathan Ferrant was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 82 minutes into the match, Newcastle United's goal looked a bit too open when Patricio Costa came free, but Mikolaj Jerzyk reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Newcastle United getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Adam Pacholewski hit a great ball. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Thomas Vollmar in the 84th minute of the match. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Thomas Vollmar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rigoberto Mina hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. Patricio Costa kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Thomas Vollmar in the 95th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jonathan Ferrant prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Thomas Vollmar in the 96th minute of play. Newcastle United's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
