In the 16th minute, Hortêncio Mandrak hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 19th match minute, Mexico was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luca Zorita to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet as Hortêncio Mandrak kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Dante Lacasa. That made the score 1-0 in the 23 minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hortêncio Mandrak in the 26th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match clock showed 28 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Luca Zorita sped through EDI MZB's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Osvaldo Neto. In the 32nd minute, Hortêncio Mandrak reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Dante Lacasa. The goal made the score 2-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Ma Lang Liang managed to get in a good position for a shot. EDI MZB's supporters rose to their feet, but Ma Lang Liang was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dante Lacasa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Lautaro Mancebo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Osvaldo Neto having to interfere.
