The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, EDI MZB's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Osvaldo Neto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. EDI MZB's Osvaldo Neto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 7th minute of play. In the 7thth minute of the game Daniel Zorita who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but EDI MZB's Osvaldo Neto was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 13 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ecuador's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Delfim Chaves was slow to take the kick. During this time EDI MZB's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Delfim Chaves got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Julio Vera quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Hortêncio Mandrak came free with the goalkeeper in the 15th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Julio Vera could save by the left post. In the 17thth minute of the game Cristian Sancho who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but EDI MZB's Osvaldo Neto was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The referee felt a red card was in order, 21 minutes into the game, when Juan Sebastián Puig put in a rough tackle. After 20 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Ecuador! In the 23rd match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felix Montenegro to maneuver through the defense. Julio Vera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Hortêncio Mandrak went, in the 83rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. When Hortêncio Mandrak came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the EDI MZB fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hortêncio Mandrak couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hortêncio Mandrak in the 87th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hortêncio Mandrak in the 88th minute of the match. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hortêncio Mandrak in the 89th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ma Lang Liang in the 94th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The EDI MZB fans' excitement grew in the 95th match minute when EDI MZB's Hortêncio Mandrak looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The EDI MZB support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
