A sloppy throw-in by Silvio Furman in the 17th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Venezuela's Jonathan Venegas. 21 minutes into the game, Guillermo Mariano threw the ball into play from the sideline. MONCHOSFC's Bruno Cisco quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Cipriano Rik managed to get in a good position for a shot. MONCHOSFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Cipriano Rik was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathan Ferrant breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Tomas Illescas might have been able to make a better finish in the 26th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alvaro Amato. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tomas Illescas ran back to his position shaking his head. Alvaro Amato showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. The supporters of Venezuela booed when MONCHOSFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pascal Omont didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alvaro Amato showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. MONCHOSFC's Adan Unai managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Guillermo Mariano in the 37 minute of the game. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cipriano Rik in the 41st minute. When Jose Correa fell near the penalty area in the 42nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Venezuela's protests and gave Jose Correa a yellow card for diving instead. After the first half Venezuela were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tomas Illescas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cipriano Rik in the 52nd minute of play. When MONCHOSFC's Cipriano Rik in the 53rd minute got a chance for a shot 53rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Venezuela's goalie prevented a goal. The supporters of Venezuela booed when MONCHOSFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcos Che didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot. In the 88th minute, Patricio Costa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 91st minute of the game Silvio Furman made a throw-in which Cipriano Rik played forward. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Cipriano Rik kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. MONCHOSFC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
