The corner went over the outstretched arms of MONCHOSFC's goalie and right to Felix Montenegro. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. MONCHOSFC's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. 20 minutes into the match, MONCHOSFC's goal looked a bit too open when Luis Andino came free, but Alvaro Amato reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 23 minutes of play, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Alvaro Amato was left in no man's land by his defense there! Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alvaro Amato having to interfere. Alvaro Amato made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luis Andino in the 28th minute of play. Primitivo Andino made in the 32nd minute of the game a quick throw-in and Cristian Sancho immediately put the ball in play. In the 33rd minute the ball was on its way in behind MONCHOSFC's goalkeeper Alvaro Amato, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Alvaro Amato took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 38 played minutes MONCHOSFC got a freekick which was hit by Adan Unai. 43 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ecuador's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Marcos Che was slow to take the kick. During this time MONCHOSFC's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Marcos Che almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Ecuador's Julio Vera did a great save.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Zorita stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, MONCHOSFC's goalkeeper Alvaro Amato had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristian Sancho. In the 52nd minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. 54 minutes had been played when some careless play by MONCHOSFC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 55th minute of the match, but Alvaro Amato made a huge save. An unexpected shot in the 62nd minute by Daniel Zorita got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. MONCHOSFC's Alvaro Amato played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 69th minute of play. After 72 minutes, Marcos Che mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the MONCHOSFC and the Ecuador players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, MONCHOSFC's Marcos Che got a free kick in the 72nd minute. After recieving a nice pass, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita tried to score from far away in the 73rd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. A collision led to MONCHOSFC getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Cipriano Rik hit a great ball. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. In the 84th minute the ball was on its way in behind MONCHOSFC's goalkeeper Alvaro Amato, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 85 minutes had been played when some careless play by MONCHOSFC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Daniel Zorita almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but MONCHOSFC's Alvaro Amato did a great save. The MONCHOSFC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
