When Alberto Bidun came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Set Fire fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alberto Bidun couldn't finish the play. The audience was convinced that Alberto Bidun's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 30th minute of the game. Primitivo Andino kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. With a little luck, Set Fire's Inocencio Oinatz got control of the ball when Cristian Sancho tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 74 played minutes, Set Fire's Robbie Ridliwan shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Julio Vera came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Set Fire reached it. In the 76th minute, Alberto Bidun got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Set Fire was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Julio Gorri didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jack McCrindle scored 1-2 in the 82nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Julio Vera, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Set Fire's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. Robbie Ridliwan hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. Despite being the better team, Ecuador failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
