Fernando Carvalhal did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant 23 minutes into the match. Fernando Carvalhal took the ball and in the 25 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Venezuela's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Illescas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kenneth Kvarnström breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 34 minutes, Ivan Vollander managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Snett★inåt★bakåt's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ivan Vollander was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Yngve Haegg during the 37th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. When Patricio Costa came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Venezuela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Patricio Costa couldn't finish the play. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fernando Carvalhal, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. Venezuela's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Snett★inåt★bakåt the free kick. In the 64th minute, Patricio Costa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 65th minute, Ivan Vollander got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee ignored Snett★inåt★bakåt's protests and gave Hugo Kuse a yellow card for diving instead. Patricio Costa was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 75th minute. Venezuela's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Venezuela's Tomas Illescas shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 85th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Kenneth Kvarnström but with some difficulty. When Tomas Illescas came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Venezuela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomas Illescas couldn't finish the play. Camilo Gaos's late challenge caught a Snett★inåt★bakåt's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Camilo Gaos helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Camilo Gaos hit a great ball.
