The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience was convinced that Arquímedes Cesario's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pedro Manzanares was relentless in the 4th minute of the game. Tomáš Kožený took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 12th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Pedro Manzanares. Colombia's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After 13 minutes Colombia's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Tomáš Kožený who took care of the corner kick. The corner led to Los Delfines's Arquímedes Cesario getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. If Arquímedes Cesario had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Matías Patrone made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kevin Mastache in the 16th minute of play. Los Delfines were awarded a corner in the 19th minute after Colombia's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Tomáš Kožený took the corner. The corner first didn't look so dangerous but when Oscar Orzaize got the ball he succeeded in some way to get through the defenders to deliver a very hard score. Result 0-1. 20 minutes into the match. In the 22nd minute Arquímedes Cesario shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Manzanares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 28th match minute, Colombia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Orlando Tafalla to maneuver through the defense. When the final whistle sounded Los Delfines left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Colombia.
