After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benigno Jerold breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Leonel Urdin fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Galway Cowboys's protests and gave Leonel Urdin a yellow card for diving instead. In the 13th match minute, Galway Cowboys was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leonel Urdin to maneuver through the defense. With his leg Julio Vera managed to avoid a goal in the 15thth minute, when Galway Cowboys's Moisés Antas fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. A hard shot 17 in the game by Moisés Antas from a close distance when the talented Julio Vera managed to make a qualified save. Ecuador's players were relieved. If Luis Andino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Galway Cowboys's Benigno Jerold tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Cristian Sancho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 32nd minute of play forced Galway Cowboys's goalkeeper Benigno Jerold to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 34 minutes of play, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Benigno Jerold was left in no man's land by his defense there! The audience was convinced that Cristian Sancho's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Benigno Jerold was relentless in the 46th minute of the game. Felix Montenegro hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Moisés Antas made a kick off. Moisés Antas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 52nd minute of play. In the 53rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Benigno Jerold took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luis Andino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Galway Cowboys's Sacha Boey got a free kick in the 55th minute. Galway Cowboys's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Agustín Saelices 57 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-4. After a rather tough play, Galway Cowboys's Ruben Estebe got a free kick in the 60th minute. A collision led to Galway Cowboys getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Ruben Estebe hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Benigno Jerold in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Benigno Jerold made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 67th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Andino in the 69th minute of play forced Galway Cowboys's goalkeeper Benigno Jerold to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Moisés Antas in the 71st minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. In the 93rd minute, Daniel Zorita made a precise shot to the right of Benigno Jerold. Galway Cowboys's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-6. When Moisés Antas came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Galway Cowboys fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Moisés Antas couldn't finish the play. When the final whistle sounded Ecuador left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Galway Cowboys.
