With a couple of smart ball manuevers Filiberto Bermudo in the 20th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. When the match clock showed 20 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Filiberto Bermudo sped through Venezuela's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. In the 23rd minute, Tomas Illescas made a precise shot to the right of Elias Rojelio. Caprichosos FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. The audience was convinced that Filiberto Bermudo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonathan Ferrant was relentless in the 44th minute of the game. Tomas Illescas went to the cornerflag to take it. After a defensive mix-up in Caprichosos FC's zone, Patricio Costa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Elias Rojelio came out of the goal and Patricio Costa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 88 minutes into the match, Filiberto Bermudo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Filiberto Bermudo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. Mahsun Ökmener charged in rather forcefully in the 92nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mahsun Ökmener the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 93rd minute, Mahsun Ökmener hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Caprichosos FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
