Curro Quevedo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Isidoro Sarmiento, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 19th minute Gaizka Aballe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Cotilla saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fresco Pais's late challenge caught a Panama's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Born To Win F.C.'s Gaizka Aballe was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Marcos Cotilla in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 45th minute, Rosario Vilanova got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Gaizka Aballe made the kick off in the second half. 57 minutes into the match, Panama's goal looked a bit too open when Fresco Pais came free, but Marcos Cotilla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Aaron Barrios was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 59 minutes into the match. The goalkeeper, Marcos Cotilla, was totally fooled by Born To Win F.C.'s Gaizka Aballe, who 60 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. 64 minutes into the match, Born To Win F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Isidoro Sarmiento came free, but Curro Quevedo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 66th match minute, Born To Win F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Amado Arias to maneuver through the defense. Isidoro Sarmiento sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Curro Quevedo was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-1. An unexpected shot in the 80th minute by Gaizka Aballe got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 81st match minute, Born To Win F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Saturnino Ledo to maneuver through the defense. Arlo De Toro kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. In the 88th minute, Isidoro Sarmiento got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Isidoro Sarmiento received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Curro Quevedo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. During the 97th minute of the match Fresco Pais completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Fresco Pais a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After a rather tough play, Born To Win F.C.'s Fresco Pais got a free kick in the 98th minute. Born To Win F.C.'s players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
