When Wouter Gijselinckx, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 4 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Dante Lacasa was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tomm Herinckx during the 6th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 6 played minutes KFC Welden got a freekick which was hit by Tomm Herinckx. Gillis Degens made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Facundo Cadaval in the 8th minute of play. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jose Van Eyken in the 9th minute of play. After having played for 10 minutes, Jose Van Eyken managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. KFC Welden's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jose Van Eyken was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lautaro Mancebo in the 15th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gillis Degens prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience thought a goal was coming when Frederik Van Beringhen got free with Dante Lacasa in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gillis Degens showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lautaro Mancebo, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. With a little luck, Mexico's Dante Lacasa got control of the ball when Kristen Spoelberghe tried to sneak it across the goal line. Dante Lacasa didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jose Van Eyken went, in the 45th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Wouter Gijselinckx made a kick off. 58 minutes into the match, KFC Welden's goalkeeper Gillis Degens had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lautaro Mancebo. KFC Welden's Gillis Degens played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Facundo Cadaval in the 59th minute of play. A nice corner shot did that Joel Gaona got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Gillis Degens quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 62 minutes into the match, Brent De Vadder had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dante Lacasa. Mexico's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Brent De Vadder was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. 68 minutes into the match, KFC Welden's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Tafalla came free, but Gillis Degens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wouter Gijselinckx in the 69th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wouter Gijselinckx in the 71st minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 80 played minutes Mexico got a freekick which was hit by Lorenzo Cazalla. An unexpectedly hard shot by Henri-Xavier Van den Dries in the 82nd minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 83 minutes had been played when some careless play by Mexico's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Raf De Weijngaert was slow to take the kick. During this time KFC Welden's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Raf De Weijngaert got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Dante Lacasa quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Gillis Degens made a fantastic save in the 87th minute, when Alberto Tafalla sent off a good shot on target. Gillis Degens took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto Tafalla, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 89th minute Jose Van Eyken shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Kristen Spoelberghe came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the KFC Welden fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kristen Spoelberghe couldn't finish the play.
