The corner led Straedelburgh's Caco Araújo to fire away a dangerous shot which Rolando Noboa despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 42nd minute Richard Pinheiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 43 minutes Peru's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Caco Araújo who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Straedelburgh's corner Marcos Vilas Boas fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Rolando Noboa quite easily take care of the ball. In the 47th minute Karl-Michael Helström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Karl-Michael Helström to make the kick off. The Straedelburgh fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. Caco Araújo ran back to his position shaking his head. 81 minutes into the match, Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sílvio Ferrão. Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Karl-Michael Helström in the 93rd minute of the match. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Straedelburgh eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
