Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Axel Tasis started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kaan Kaa in the 3rd minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luís Fabiano Tasso scored 0-1 in the 11th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benito Sanz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Kaan Kaa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 16 minutes of play, Hannover Football Club's Agnaldo Cruz made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Benito Sanz was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Kaan Kaa in the 19th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kaan Kaa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dráusio Mendes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere. The supporters of Hannover Football Club booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alan Moruga didn't get a good kick on the ball. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Fabiano Tasso in the 28th minute of play. When Abel Carballo fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Costa Rica's protests and gave Abel Carballo a yellow card for diving instead. Abel Carballo hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kaan Kaa in the 31st minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dráusio Mendes in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Benito Sanz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jean Messias in the 37th minute of the match. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agnaldo Cruz in the 41st minute of play. After 43 played minutes Hannover Football Club got a freekick which was hit by Moussa Sissoko. After the first half Hannover Football Club were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Kaan Kaa to strike the kick off in the second half. Kaan Kaa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 52nd minute of the match, but Benito Sanz made a huge save. In the 54th minute, Eliseo Noboa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Benito Sanz came out of the goal in the 56th minute to try and stop a shot by Hannover Football Club's Agnaldo Cruz. But to his dismay, Agnaldo Cruz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. 61 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Kaan Kaa came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 62nd minute of the match, Wei Feng Yao tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Benito Sanz saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Dráusio Mendes received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Benito Sanz came out and tried to block the shot, but Dráusio Mendes slotted it home off the left post making it 0-6 in the 65th minute. Dráusio Mendes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dráusio Mendes in the 76th minute of the match. 81 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Kaan Kaa came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tiago da Silva kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. Lautaro Puig recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agnaldo Cruz in the 90th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 94 minutes, Agnaldo Cruz took a quick shot and it went in 0-8 without a chance for Benito Sanz to make any attempt to save it. Hannover Football Club played a much better game than Costa Rica and deserved their victory. The Costa Rica players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
