The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Lino Mazza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mariano Lacasa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mariano Lacasa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lino Mazza read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 7th minute of play. Lino Mazza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mariano Lacasa, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Chile's defense didn't have a chance, in the 22nd minute, when Charalambos Vokolos scored to the left of an out of position Thiago Pliego, making the score, 1-0. If Mariano Lacasa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. -BZF- Petrolul Berca's Lino Mazza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 27th minute of play. In a very dangerous position, a player in Chile fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 38th minute. Penalty! 39 minutes into the game, Albertinho Alagoano recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Thiago Pliego. Albertinho Alagoano showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. 43 minutes into the match, Chile's Mariano Lacasa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lino Mazza narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 48 minutes into the match, -BZF- Petrolul Berca's goal looked a bit too open when Mariano Lacasa came free, but Lino Mazza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mariano Lacasa to make the kick off. 55 minutes into the game, Mariano Lacasa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Lino Mazza was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Orlando Casaus fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lino Mazza having to interfere. Mariano Lacasa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lino Mazza having to make a save. 63 minutes into the game, Orlando Casaus cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Lino Mazza was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 66 minutes into the game, Chile's Mariano Lacasa nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Lino Mazza made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-3. Thiago Pliego made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Albertinho Alagoano in the 71st minute of play. Thiago Pliego showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Charalambos Vokolos, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. Chile's Thiago Pliego played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Flavio Valines in the 77th minute of play. Mariano Lacasa in the 81stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Lino Mazza, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Charalambos Vokolos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mariano Lacasa got free with Lino Mazza in the 93rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The Chile supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Chile would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
