In the 17th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mané Jacinto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 24 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Godofredo Oriol. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 25th minute of play forced Grox Team F.C.'s goalkeeper Mané Jacinto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After taking down the ball on Ecuador's corner Daniel Zorita fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Mané Jacinto quite easily take care of the ball. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 27th minute, when Godofredo Oriol sent off a good shot on target. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mané Jacinto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Godofredo Oriol fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomás Olayo in the 89th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Roberto Vedillo kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. Daniel Zorita, 93 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Ecuador were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
