When Patricio Costa came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Venezuela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Patricio Costa couldn't finish the play. Jefferson Donato sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Petardo Futebol e Surf's Oscar Hermes got a free kick in the 21st minute. In the 36th minute, Jefferson Donato left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Petardo Futebol e Surf fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Jefferson Donato might have been able to make a better finish in the 39th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jonathan Ferrant. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jefferson Donato ran back to his position shaking his head. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Flavio Silviano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 1-3 became the score in the 44th minute when Jefferson Donato elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Jefferson Donato made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Tomas Illescas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Petardo Futebol e Surf's Flavio Silviano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patricio Costa in the 56th minute of play. 60 minutes into the match, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Flavio Silviano narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 65th minute, Dinç Tekgül hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Telmo Vasconcelos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Camilo Gaos kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. Moisés Madureira blasted a shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jonathan Ferrant having to make a save. Jefferson Donato recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Patricio Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Flavio Silviano having to interfere. In the 90th minute the ball was on its way in behind Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.
