Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Timos Kazantzou in the 17th minute of play. Bernard Cytrynski made in the 24th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Peru's Anthony Alvarado. The supporters of Peru booed when SMOCZANKA MIELEC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nuno Malafaia didn't get a good kick on the ball. 32 minutes into the match, SMOCZANKA MIELEC's goalkeeper Roch Grondzki had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Julian Murillo. 34 minutes into the match, SMOCZANKA MIELEC's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Roch Grondzki reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Milagros Fraga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Emmanuel Reyes kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

SMOCZANKA MIELEC's Roch Grondzki played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joaquin Prats in the 54th minute of play. Timos Kazantzou could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Rolando Noboa made a huge save. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Timos Kazantzou in the 59th minute of play. SMOCZANKA MIELEC's Oscar Giraldo was substituted for Timos Kazantzou. Milagros Fraga struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Roch Grondzki didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Peru. After a rather tough play, SMOCZANKA MIELEC's Jacinto Pinto got a free kick in the 85th minute. After 88 played minutes SMOCZANKA MIELEC got a freekick which was hit by Nuno Malafaia.
