Spectators: 42 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Eliseo Bingen took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 3rd minute, Fermin Paio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd rose to their feet as Eliseo Bingen kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Jonathan Ferrant. That made the score 1-0 in the 5 minute of play. The throw-in from Gervasio Leguizamón in the 9th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Venezuela's Salvador Gisbert. Guillermo Mariano's late challenge caught a San Lorenzo de Sarandi's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Guillermo Mariano helped the player get up and apologised. Oscar Passet showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tomas Illescas in the 12th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Oscar Passet prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Tomas Illescas took the ball and in the 14 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Oscar Passet. Oscar Passet dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 17th minute of play forced San Lorenzo de Sarandi's goalkeeper Oscar Passet to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 21st minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Oscar Passet saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Oscar Passet took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oscar Passet having to interfere. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Oscar Passet tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The throw-in from Joshua Secada in the 29th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by San Lorenzo de Sarandi's Aristides Dayam. In the 33rd minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Oscar Passet saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 33rd minute of play forced San Lorenzo de Sarandi's goalkeeper Oscar Passet to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 34 minutes had been played when some careless play by San Lorenzo de Sarandi's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Tomas Illescas was slow to take the kick. During this time Venezuela's players had a chance to rest. The corner led to Venezuela's Salvador Gisbert getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. San Lorenzo de Sarandi's Aristides Dayam quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Joshua Secada, made in the 39th minute of the game. San Lorenzo de Sarandi's Oscar Passet played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Illescas in the 40th minute of play. 46 minutes in the game Camilo Gaos did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Tomas Illescas. In the 47th minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Oscar Passet saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Venezuela fans' excitement grew in the 47th match minute when Venezuela's Tomas Illescas looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. San Lorenzo de Sarandi's Anacleto Urtzi was substituted for Eliseo Bingen. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tomas Illescas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Oscar Passet made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tomas Illescas in the 56th minute. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tomas Illescas got free with Oscar Passet in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Oscar Passet made a fantastic save in the 60th minute, when Tomas Illescas sent off a good shot on target. In the 65th minute, Amancio Odilon got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Patricio Costa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Oscar Passet made a fantastic save in the 68th minute, when Tomas Illescas sent off a good shot on target. Tomas Illescas who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 73rdth minute tested the skills of Oscar Passet when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Natalio Calvino in the 75th minute of the match. 78 minutes into the match, San Lorenzo de Sarandi's goalkeeper Oscar Passet had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tomas Illescas. Alex Chicote made in the 80th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by San Lorenzo de Sarandi's Aristides Dayam. San Lorenzo de Sarandi's attentive Aristides Dayam managed to snatch the ball when Alex Chicote made a throw-in in the 81st minute of the game. Oscar Passet took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. San Lorenzo de Sarandi's Florentino Etxepare managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Alex Chicote in the 85 minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in San Lorenzo de Sarandi's zone, Tomas Illescas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Oscar Passet came out of the goal and Tomas Illescas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice moves Tomas Illescas could shoot a difficult shot in the 91st minute, which Oscar Passet however easily saved by the left post. The throw-in from Guillermo Mariano in the 95th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by San Lorenzo de Sarandi's Roque Errando. When Camilo Gaos fell near the penalty area in the 98th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Venezuela's protests and gave Camilo Gaos a yellow card for diving instead. Camilo Gaos hit a great freekick 98 minutes into the match. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Venezuela eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
