Peru's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sílvio Ferrão was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Peru's Eliseo Mina quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Betão Matorin, made in the 21st minute of the game. Marcos Vilas Boas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rolando Noboa having to interfere. Through an outstanding action, after 27 minutes, Aderbal Santos successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Aderbal Santos was out of position in the 31 minute of play, and Julian Murillo capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Julian Murillo really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. Santos Txaran kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. 42 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Richard Pinheiro came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Betão Matorin made in the 45th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Peru's Julian Murillo. After 47 minutes of play, Straedelburgh's Richard Pinheiro made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rolando Noboa was left in no man's land by his defense there! Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Sílvio Ferrão in the 71st minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 73 minutes into the game, Luz Tejedor cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Aderbal Santos was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. With a little luck, Peru's Rolando Noboa got control of the ball when Richard Pinheiro tried to sneak it across the goal line. Eliseo Alcocer replaced Moises Gayoso. Betão Matorin got a throw-in 92 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Sílvio Ferrão. Sílvio Ferrão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rolando Noboa having to interfere. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
