With an all-out effort, Grox Team F.C.'s Julio Vera threw himself towards the right post 14 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Tomás Olayo, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Erling Blixt sent off a good shot on target. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Mané Jacinto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Godofredo Oriol sent off a good shot on target. 23 minutes into the game, Grox Team F.C.'s Tomás Olayo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Julio Vera made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Mané Jacinto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 25th minute of the match. After 25 minutes of play, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mané Jacinto was left in no man's land by his defense there! Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Mané Jacinto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Godofredo Oriol who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 32ndth minute tested the skills of Julio Vera when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 33rd minute Erling Blixt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Godofredo Oriol who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 36thth minute tested the skills of Julio Vera when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 37 minutes into the match, Grox Team F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Mané Jacinto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Grox Team F.C.'s Mané Jacinto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 47th minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Daniel Zorita made a kick off. Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mané Jacinto read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 51st minute of play. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Mané Jacinto made a huge save. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Erling Blixt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Godofredo Oriol charged in rather forcefully in the 67th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Godofredo Oriol the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Agustín Saelices got free with Mané Jacinto in the 68th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Daniel Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 93rd minute Tomás Olayo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 94 minutes into the game, Daniel Zorita was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ecuador's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Grox Team F.C. the free kick. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Daniel Zorita hit a great ball. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Godofredo Oriol, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. Grox Team F.C.'s fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
