Silvério Taveira took the ball and in the 13 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marcos Cotilla. Marcos Cotilla dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Silvério Taveira in the 18th minute of play forced Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Paço Futebol Clube were awarded a corner in the 21th minute after Panama's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Tarcísio Guterres took the corner. In the 22nd minute, Hermano lago left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Paço Futebol Clube fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. A collision led to Paço Futebol Clube getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Marcos Cotilla took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hermano lago, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marcos Cotilla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hermano lago, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Miguel Miralles kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. Panama's Isidoro Sarmiento got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Isidoro Sarmiento's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hélio Neto was relentless in the 81st minute of the game. When the match clock showed 81 minutes, the score became 3-2 when Isidoro Sarmiento sped through Paço Futebol Clube's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Hélio Neto.
